Turning 40 and other milestones!
Well folks,
There's no escaping the fact - yesterday I turned 40!! I didn't think it would seem like such a big deal, but it does. Fortunately, I didn't turn into a pumpkin or anything, but I still feel as though something significat has taken place (there is a world of difference between being 39 and being 40, I can tell you!).
Anyway, I celebrated this momentous event by getting down to some serious sculpting. I have struggled for years, trying to model a human head that doesn't resemble the Elephant Man... and yesterday - finally - I started to achieve something I might actually be able to use. You can see the work in progress here. I am aiming for something more faery rather than human and I plan to take a mould of this sculpt and cast it in papier mache slip. If all goes well, this will be the basis for a fantasy cloth doll. I will keep you posted!
I am postively not abandoning the bears, however! Sculpting is just something i torture myself with in my spare time. I am delighted to say that, having worked my socks off to get the Abaracadabra Teddies order finished and sent out before the end of the month, all the bears sold within the first twenty-four hours! I am now putting the final touches the the Bear Garden's order and that will be shipped out tomorrow - and then I am going away for a well-earned holiday to the Netherlands. I shall take plenty of pictures and share them with you on my return.
A Bientot,
Christine

What a great idea Christine!
This will give us collectors a real opportunity to see what goes into making your wonderful bears!
Hugs
